Un-Masking Birch Trees

4th Grade students studied about the environment of Birch Trees. Students learned about masking in artwork and how to us it within their work. Students used watercolor to create their Birch Tree forest and added shadow details in their work.

Snowy Cityscapes

6th Grade used two dimensional and 3 dimensional shapes to create a beautiful snowy cityscape. Students added their own details and color choices, making their work unique. Students used parallel lines to create their structures.

Monet's Lily Pond Frogs

1st grade students learned about the artist Monet and his beautifully famous Lily Pond paintings. Students learned how to draw a simple frog in art. We used tempera paint for the background of their artworks to mimic Monet's dash-like style.

Picasso Inspired Portraits!

7th Grade Students learned about the artist Pablo Picasso and used his method of abstraction. They used this inspiration to create their own crazy portraits.

March of the Penguins! SO CUTE!

First grade created Penguins in March using watercolor and craft construction.

Green Arts Festival May 9th!

Hello All! The Green Arts Festival is Fast approaching... What is it you ask? This is a Free Recycled Family Arts Festival (GRADES 3rd - 6th) provided through NRG, a grant we received for the school. This will be held Thursday, May 9th from 5pm Sharp until 7:30pm at the school. You MUST Pre-register (with the form that went home) to attend this event. The event is free, however is limited to the first Preregistered TOTAL people of 350 (Adults and children). What are we doing? Well the event kicks off at 5pm with a show! Then you will move in groups to different green artist's stations while creating recycled art projects and learning about sustainability! There might even be a MOSAIC creation station!!!! You can help make this event a success by dropping off recycled 2 liter plastic soda bottles (aiming for 400), rinsed and with the plastic wrapper removed. We also need recycled cereal boxes. Also, a few other random recycled items I will post at a later time. *********We also need many parent volunteers to make this a successful event!
