Middle of the School Year!

What a great half year of school I have had this year! Thank you to all the wonderful staff I work with, especially our new school principal, Mr. Lowe! Below are some of the projects from the year. With getting engaged to my long time boyfriend, Evan, and family matters, this year has been a struggle to find time to make my usually postings. Though the list is on-going, I feel as if I have finally caught up to all of my "to do" tasks this week! Enjoy!

Welcome back Art Educators, Cook-Wissahickon Families, and Friends! We are off to an amazing new school year! I have allowed for comments on the pages, so you will have to be a follower of the page to post! I will do my best to answer any questions. I have added new links on the right side of the page to my lesson plans this year and information for the Middle School final project!

Here are some items we still need in the art room this year....

December Updates 2014!

Check out the latest Cook-Wiss Pages links at the top of the BLOG!

Music Updates!

Hi All! Tis the season! There are a lot of excited things happening at Cook during the holidays and my favorite is the Winter concert hosted by Mr. D the music specialist! This year's concert will take place all day for students on December 11th and at night starting at 5:30 for parents! I hope to see you all there for this year's Flakes Musical!  The MG Studio students and I are hard at work preparing the stage!

Here is a video I created in my Technology class in graduate school...I have always found winter to be long and cloudy. I hope this video provides all with some uplifting encouragement! Enjoy!

RIP Puffy. May 2003 - December 2014. Your presence will be missed.

2014 Fall Artwork Updates

Whoa!!! This year is flying by!!!! The holidays are around the corner and that means our annual holiday choir show is approaching in December. Here are some artworks highlights from the first half of the year... Enjoy!

First grade read the book Leaf Man, and created their own ideas of Leaf Man's Travels, and at the end we went outside and they used real leafs to create their leaf people in person.

Students in 8th and Kindergarten created name designs using watercolor, 3rd grade created monster symmetry prints and 6th grade created owl symmetry chalk designs.

1st-3rd grade used primary colors to make secondary colors and experimented with the elements of art.

4th grade created a four seasons design, 5th grade drew cornucopias from a still life, & 8th grade made warm and cool tree designs!

More works of art to come! Stay posted!!!! Happy Fall!
